random questions

Q: What is your most memorable childhood memory (vacation, trip, birthday)??
-hmmmm........I have a lot of great/crazy/not-so-fun memories!! We used to vacation a lot with my Schriver Family(which is HUGE, i lost count after 120, jer was 98) we would spend a week at OuterBanks, NC--we would go crabbing, climb the sand dunes, hunt for ghost crabs at night, play lots crazy canasta and of course spend lots of time playing on the beach and in the ocean. Another memory I have is: my brother and sister were suppose to get me buckled in our van but they didn't! So is little Janelle(maybe 4)standing on the side-rail as my mom is backing out of a parking space!! I remember banging and screaming until she saw my little head trying to peak through the passenger window--my siblings go in lot of trouble that day!!

Q: Do you plan to have kids anytime soon?
-That would be a no.

Q: What is your favorite way to relax after a long day?
-Depends what kind of stress it was....big test=shopping :)...crazy day at work=bubble bath.

Q: How would describe the style of your home?
-That is a hard one. I would say I have my own style........ummm...VinatageFarmhouse Style. translation=my kitchen is 1950's style complete with chrome legged kitchen table and red vinyl chairs.....i love pottery barn-i love their furniture and a lot of their 'stuff' reminds of a farmhouse style......

Q: If you could live anywhere would that be?
-honestly where I live now, it has all of our friends and a majority of our immediate family.......cheesy I know!! if I could move the whole county to the beach, then that would be awesome :)

not sure what to do with this........

So I found this bottle the other day at thrift store and I am not sure what to do with it-----I passed by it several times, even pick it up, set it back down and obviously ended up buying it! Now the question is do i put something in it or keep it empty??

My spring centerpiece:

The green color that I am not a 100% sure on--I love it at night but during the day I don't but I am not home during the day.

I think that I had asked for help for picking a color out for the shed but never showed you what I picked--after four different colors I ended up going with green(thank goodness for the little sample cans at lowes!!)

so I struggle

So I struggle with worrying(and feeling overwhelmed), I can worry about anything and everything. I worry about my grades, about getting into nursing school, what to make for supper etc........I know that it is crazy to worry so much when I just need to give it all to God because its in his hands anyways. Maybe someday I will learn.

skiing

Jeremy and I went skiing this weekend, well I skied and he snowboarded. I was super nervous about skiing because I have only went once in my life and that was 15yrs ago!!

BUT I had a lot of fun and would def do it again:) Did I take any pictures you ask?? Nope!!

The ski lifts make me very nervous and every time I was on one I really did feel sick to my stomach but I never fell off nor did I fall getting off--Success!!

Jeremy's quote of me skiing "you did awesome babe and you were really fly down the hill!!" So I flew down the hills we tried everything to get me to go slower and it just seemed to make me go faster but I was really good at going side to side and dodging the other people on the slopes. On my last run I did go a good slow speed until about 3/4th's of the way down then I shot off like a rocket but I was always able to stop at the bottom, thankfully!!

cinnamon rolls and my new nephew :)

My cute little nephew, Maddox!

picture order: me, my sister Heidi and my sister Melissa
*I think that I look like the odd one in the picture--probably the brown curly hair*

So after being married for a little over 4 years I finally used the bread machine we received as a gift!! I wish I would have got it out before now :)

Jeremy says I got myself in trouble w/ these no more store bought!! Thats ok because they are super easy :)

Bread Machine Cinnamon Rolls(recipe found on moneysavingmom.com)

Dough:
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons warm milk
3 tablespoons canola oil
1 egg, lightly beaten plus 2 egg whites
1/2 cup sugar
4 cups flour (Add a bit more if dough seems too wet after first few minutes of kneading in the bread machine.)
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Filling:
2 tablespoons butter
2/3 cup brown sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon cinnamon(I doubled this part but did not use all of it, so i would probably do one and 1/2 rather then double it)

Icing:
1 teaspoon milk
1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar(i would probably decrease this amount the next time, maybe start w/ a cup and add more if it needs it)
4 tablespoons (or less) butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla

Put the dough ingredients in the bread machine in the order listed and run on the dough cycle. After the dough cycle is finished, roll the dough into a large rectangle and spread it with 2 Tablespoons melted butter and 2/3 cup brown sugar mixed with 1 Tablespoon cinnamon.

Roll up and cut into 10-15 rolls and place in two greased round cake pans. Bake at 325 degrees for 18-20 minutes or until browned. Spread the icing on as soon as they come out of the oven.

You can also cover the unbaked rolls with plastic wrap, stick them in the refrigerator overnight, and then bake in the morning.(I froze some)

Does anyone have a good recipe for bread machine pizza dough?? It is my turn to plan "Date Night" and I am thinking of doing one at home w/ pizza and a tournament on the wii.

Cincy

Jeremy took me to Cincinnati this past weekend. We booked a hotel downtown by using hot*wire and got the Hy*att for a pretty nice price. We went to I*kea and picked a few things for the house--the store is amazing its HUGE!! My favorite restaurant was actually for breakfast Sunday morning--it was called First Watch and I had their Floridian French Toast and ate all of it(i never clean my plate). We stopped by the Cre*ation Museum(we had free passes), I posted a few pictures below. We also ate at another one of my favorites Pf Ch*angs on the way home--yum yum!!

mashed potatoes

So i do not have a potato masher but wanted to make mashed potatoes last night with supper--I tried before with other things around the kitchen and they were always super lumpy. BUT I remembered that I got the quick chef from tupper*ware when I hosted a party last year and that it worked amazingly well. I just threw in some garlic, butter, milk and the potatoes and spun it like crazy!! The nice thing is it has a spot for a little funnel on the top so I could just poor in more milk when I felt it needed it.
