How did we decide on naming our son, Hudson? First off all I had no idea that Hudson was a car until a week after he was born?!?! Would that have changed my mind, nope!
So we had it narrowed down to 2 names from about the time we found it that we were having a boy to delivery. When we fist told my sister and mom that we were expecting a boy, they asked about names. I had mentioned that we had one that we really liked but I kind of would like to have an "H" name. Why a name that starts with an H? Well we both have Grandpa's that have fist names that start with an "H." My grandpa's name was Henry and Jeremy's Grandpa is Harry. So my sister started mentioning different "H" names but it was hard because we knew we wanted Jeremy as the middle name. I think the last one she had said was Hudson and just stuck with me so I told Jeremy. We really liked our original name but also liked the new idea.
Fast forward to "D" day! After we realized we were not leaving the hospital I asked our delivery nurses (yes there were multiple, that is what happens when you are in labor forever!) if they had heard either name lately. They had not heard Hudson but had heard our original name. We still hadn't decided when he came out but I really liked Hudson and Jeremy knew this. So when the nurses asked us his name Jeremy quickly said Hudson! He had told me that he was thinking if he had dark hair it would be Hudson but if it was light then it would have been the other.
Some of the "H" names I like but would have been duplicates for our family (I have a HUGE family!): Henry and Harrison
